A novelty pen

Today, I want to feature on a special ball-point pen.
It is wooden ball-point pen, is handcrafted at the studio located in Ise City, Mie Prefecture. What makes it so special ? Well, One third of Ise city is forestland owned by the Ise Jingu, an anchient Shinto shrine over 2000 years and considered to be one of the Japan's spiritual spot. This pen is made of Hinoki cypress and Japanese yew which grew in the forest of the shrine. Those trees are used as material for famous periodic rite "Shikinen Sengu" at the Ise-jingu Shrine, which is a grand festival where all the shrines are rebuilt every twenty year.

This pen represents nobleness and holiness. It even holds great aroma from the tree.
